I wrote 3 articles about Greece and I hope you can find helpful info in all of them :) And re: the macho men rumor—my bff said that when someone says something disparaging about a country or the inhabitants, always ask them “have you been there”? I started doing this and the answer was always “no, but I’ve heard…” It’s fascinating but I also assumed it as fact before I went so I’m guilty of believing what others said even though I personally know two lovely Greek men IRL! There’s a super funny Greek IG/TT person so posted a video about what will happen when you go to a Greek person’s house for dinner and it’s basically this guy falling over backwards to please his guest. Making dinner, offering everything including the shirt off his back and other people commented about how true it was. I sent it to a friend who moved to Greece a few months ago and she agreed it was true! The woman are SUPER NICE too! It’s just a really nice culture!! I hope you have a great time there and learn from my mistakes LOL.
