Hi Kimberly, fully support your approach on all points.

I have friends who left Lake County NorCA (fires) to go to Ashville NOCA and then got hit with the storms there.

One thing I'd like to point out for you to check into is energy infrastructure security.

I believe Portugal is the most vulnerable to foreign interference from China in Europe.

Obviously there are a million things to consider. I'm checking out LatAm and sofar love it here!

Hello and thank you so much for your comment!

I do have to correct one thing, the blackout in Portugal and Spain has been explained. It was an infrastructure issue with Spain, not due to China. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I have been living here for several years and haven’t heard or seen any issues with China but I’ll be the first to admit I’m not an expert. The U.S. and Russia on the other hand… 😬

I LOVE that you’re loving Latin America!!!! There’s a lot to love 🥰

Agreed. I don't think the last event was related to China, but the fact that Portugal has the highest % of Chinese run/controlled infrastructure is potentially a problem longer term. Just something to keep an eye on. I think that resilience and independence in case of future conflicts is a good thing.

Dunno where you live...where I live in USA we have lots of fires, some of the caused by power lines touching ground. On windy days in the fall they cut the power to prevent fires. This has made us all get generators and small solar setups to have some backup.

Yes, I'm exploring various parts and find Colombia fascinating. Peru and Argentina next!

Love your posts, thank you. Very inspiring.

Can't wait to visit Portugal someday!

Hi, thank you for your comment.

When I lived in the US, I lived in Marin County, California and our power company PGE was responsible for many massive fires that wiped out two towns.

As mentioned, I've heard great things about certain places in Colombia but not as great about living in Peru or Argentina. My best friend is Argentinian and says it's extremely corrupt and dangerous. I have another friend who travels full time and loves Peru but wouldn't live there. However, these are from the POV's of solo females.

I'm sure you will find your place! And thank you again for your kind comments! :)

"There is no perfect place. You don't get to escape problems by moving; you just get to choose a different set of them." TRUTH - though I still don't like it. 😂
