This week I also responded to an insult on my substack which I won’t repeat but it only made me more ferocious to live life at full sail and drop the haters one by one.

I’m so sorry that you had such a horrible insult that you can’t even repeat it on your substack. I recently heard that there are a lot of Nazi organizations on substack and apparently they have quite a big platform here. Plus there are just assholes everywhere trying to rain shit down on anyone happy and thriving. We’re the fortunate ones!!
I got my Ph.D. at 50. I’m older than that now, and my spouse and I are getting ourselves in gear to change countries.
60 is only too old for trapeze if you’re a cranky dude who thinks that. I have noticed that whether you think you can do something or think you can’t, you’re probably right, regardless of what the “something” is.
I'm so privileged to be included alongside these amazing women. I felt so unworthy of all the athleticism of these women; I felt compelled to write a post about my skydiving adventure.
I liked this article as I can relate on so many levels. I moved to Madeira in February, aged 69, by myself (and an old cat) and knowing no-one here. I too have had several "reinventions" - big firm CPA, music company executive, rowing coach and options trader. I may be in Porto for a couple of days in October. We should meet up!?

This is fantastic!! Age has no limits! I’m only 48 but so inspired by all fearless women who do what they want and just go for it, at any age!! I’ll be one of you as I go too! Truly inspiring.
My wife (f62) and I (f68) are moving to Medellin Colombia next year; we’re here right now on a recon mission. What lovely people here! We’re both working class folks, and in fact I’m still working, and I’m exhausted. The only financial way to retire is to go to a country where the cost of living won’t overly strain our budget. Is it terrifying to uproot and jump? Of course! But the current political situation and the rise of homophobia make it the only solution. I keep wondering how many Jews wish they had left 1936 Berlin when they could. Dramatic? Experience homophobia for yourself and you’ll get it soon enough. Closets are for clothes. Anyway, I’m grateful for this resource; if I stepped on any toes, please forgive.

It was one of the first people, that got me into watching long-form podcast content (and is one of the few, that doesn’t play the “podcast-carousel” like all the other ones. A 70 year old women from Saskatchewan just broke the W70 mile record. I looked it up and wow, it's fast I've got room to improve. I see lots of older adults that are very active ocarrionally starting late in life but if I had any advice for people in their 30's, don't slack on your fitness, the base you build in your 30's and 40's are going to make it much easier to keep going in your 50's, 60's and beyond.
In the US, I can eat grass-fed beef that is free of pesticides, wild fish, and organic vegetables. And I can do that 100% of the time, provided I don’t go out to eat. When I do eat out, I can usually eat one of those three - but not all three.
However, when I travel around the world, I rarely find grass-fed beef, wild fish, or organic vegetables. Sometimes I can figure out that a particular fish is probably wild, but most of the time, people in other countries don’t seem to be as discerning about their food choices as I am.
Hi Teddy, I understand what you're saying. It's not an issue for me, as I'm vegan. I talked a bit about organic veg here in Portugal on a YT post, I'll paste it below.
But I do have to say that it's not people in other countries aren't as discerning about their food choices: it's because 1. they don't have the money and can't afford to eat organic or 2. they don't have the option.
These options aren't available in many other countries though I do know someone who goes out of their way to get their meat directly from a farmer.

Yes, the weather here IS perfect. Every day this summer has been 76-82 degrees.
Unfortunately I'll be meeting my friends in Lisbon, but I'll definitely be in Porto one day soon!
